Tutankhamun's Curse!

15th Mar 2017

We have been finding out about Tutankhamun in school and visited the Lisburn Linen Museum to find out a little more. We made replicas of his death mask that he wore inside his sarcophagus. However beware... as a result of our trip many of our class may now be under the curse of Tutankhamun's tomb!

We wanted to find out more about the link between the linen we make here in Northern Ireland and the linen used by the Ancient Egyptians thousands of years ago, including the linen used to mummify the pharaohs. Some brave souls dared to look at a piece of Linen that came from Tutankhamun's tomb and, if the rumours are to be believed, they will now face the curse of the mummy as a consequence of gazing on something that has been removed from the tomb.
