Year 1 have enjoyed listening to the story of the Little Red Hen. We acted it out using masks, and decided if we would have helped the Little Red Hen bake bread or not.
Mrs Hume told Year 1 that she was going to be baking some bread in class and asked "who will help me?". We all wanted to help Mrs Hume!
We needed some:
Flour Yeast
Salt Water
Oil Honey
to make our bread.
To bake our bread;
1. we added the flour and the yeast together
2. we stirred in the water, oil and honey
3. we mixed it all together
4. Mrs Hume kneaded the bread together
5. we put it into a loaf tin
6. we waited an hour for the bread to rise
7. we baked our bread in the oven
The best part of baking the bread was getting to try it. It was yummy!
We had lots of fun baking our bread!
